To all of you who say "I would SO love to live and work in Key West..."
Our veteran property management team will be away beginning May 1, 2013, and we are seeking two couples to cover the spring, summer and fall seasons in Key West. Yes, I said we have an opening in Key West that begins this WINTER!!! We are seeking couples that enjoy all that the Keys have to offer. We hope to find one couple to arrive between March 15 & 17, and another couple to arrive between March 20 & 25, but we do have some flexibility. We are seeking couples to stay through the fall, and perhaps through the winter.
You are invited to email us your qualifications to manage our 21 luxury, privately owned sites in Bluewater Key RV Resort. Or BY APPOINTMENT, you are invited to come meet us. Please schedule your appointment via email -- the phone can be busy and guests/reservations take priority over applicant phone calls.
Our main office is out of the park, but our managers are required to live on site - but hey, it's Key West! One couple will be on Lot 1, a large canal front, 35 x 85 ft lot, with its own private dock and private tiki hut. This is an RV site that normally rents for over $4,800 per month in winter, about half that in summer.
For RV'ers who say "I normally get paid" please remember that the average pay for workamping is about $8 per hour, or about $6 per hour after taxes ... so a couple would have to work a whole lot to pay for a site in the Keys. We envision that each management team will work alone two or three days per week, and that both teams will work together "overlapping" a couple days per week. The projects will be scheduled BY you, not FOR you. You will help us plan and schedule the summer refurbishing jobs. You will have days off to enjoy fishing, snorkeling and all that the Keys have to offer.
We are looking for two self-directed couples with the ability to set your own work schedules and work independently and jointly as property management teams. Landscape and maintenance tasks are included, but NO toilets/showers to clean! Reservations and customer service are the backbone of the positions. We place a premium on customer service. Think of yourself as a potential concierge at the nicest resort you have ever visited.
Want further information on tasks/qualifications? One person per couple must have some experience with either Microsoft Word or Word Perfect, and knowledge of Excel helps. Experience with reservations programs a plus, especially Campground Master, but people with computer skills can learn the reservations program in a snap! Landscaping? Prior knowledge of Florida plants is not as important as desire to make things look VERY nice. Physical fitness is important. Cleaning lots can be a hot, tiring task in Florida, and you might be required to lift a trash can full of palm fronds over your head to put it in a dumpster.
What is the weather like? Very often, Key West is the coolest place in the US in July, August and September! This always surprises folks! Here is a chart of average high and low temperatures for the year:
Workamping experience is not required, but RV experience is a must and property management is a plus. Email your resume to
